Radio Forum: Young Jewish & Palestinian Australians discuss their hopes for Peace in the Middle East by Kim Gleeson 8:58am 31st Aug, 2004 Broadcast 30.8.2004 "Youthful solutions for the Middle East".(Produced by Kim Gleeson & SBS:Worldview) Israelis and Palestinians show no signs that battle fatigue or a constantly rising body count, will bring the two sides closer to a peace settlement. World View - SBS News and Current Affairs radio recently brought you a Middle East dialogue, set up by academics at Melbourne University, to try to tap the Jewish and Palestinian diaspora, as a starting point for greater public understanding of the history and issues involved in the conflict. Today, we want to bring you some different perspectives from young Australians whose voices are rarely heard. They represent the aspirational views of young Australian-Palestinians and Australian Jews. We asked them about their hopes and fears, and about what, if anything, they would do if they had an opportunity to influence the situation. # This program can be listened to with a MP3 or Real Player. Select News & Current Affairs on the Worldview page and a program description will become available.
